Samantha Nix is the Florida State University’s Early Alert Program Coordinator. Before this role, she worked with Dr. Perez-Felkner as a research assistant while pursuing her doctoral degree. Her dissertation research was funded through an NAEd/Spencer Dissertation Fellowship and a P.E.O. Scholar Award. While in graduate school, she participated in research projects measuring participation in science and math fields, institutional policy development, and college student success. Her previous professional work includes coordinating the FSU Certificate in Institutional Research and the FSU Women in Math, Science, and Engineering Living Learning Community.  She is interested in studying college students experiencing academic difficulty, major choice in relation to identity (gender, race/ethnicity, ability, socio-economic status), college experiences, and social psychological processes.
